Bobcat

What is a Bobcat?

A Bobcat is the first badge earned in Cub Scouts.  It starts the scout on his journey through scouting.  Every Cub Scout must earn the Bobcat badge before earning any other ranks.  They can work on other ranks, but they cannot be awarded until the Bobcat badge is earned.  To earn the Bobcat badge a Cub Scout must do the following:

  • Learn and say the Scout Oath, with help if needed.
  • Learn and say the Scout Law, with help if needed.
  • Show the Cub Scout sign. Tell what it means.
  • Show the Cub Scout handshake. Tell what it means.
  • Say the Cub Scout Motto. Tell what it means.
  • Show the Cub Scout Salute.
